Paul Austin is a 41-year-old drifter from Adelaide, Australia who has spent years immersed in drift culture both locally and internationally. Growing up around cars thanks to his dad, he was introduced to motorsport early, even attending the Australian Grand Prix as a baby during the Adelaide F1GP days.

One of the biggest highlights of his drifting journey was spending several years attending back-to-back Ebisu Matsuri events between 2009 and 2012. At the time there were far fewer international drivers attending, giving him the chance to mix it up with the local Japanese drivers in a carefree environment.
He currently competes in a 1992 Nissan Sileighty powered by an RB25 engine paired with a CD009 gearbox. The car runs an Emtron ECU and display wired by SM Automotive Solutions, along with ShockWorks suspension and an Acostal steering system. The setup produces around 430rwkw, with Austin saying the Acostal steering system is his favourite part of the car thanks to the incredible steering feel and lock it provides.

Beyond the track, we love to learn a little more about the drivers themselves.
